A Short Study on Psalm 91

First, read Psalm 91 and then spend some time working through the following questions.

    • What are some word pictures you see in Psalm 91? What is the dominant image in the Psalm?
    • What four names of God are used in verses 1 & 2. What is the significance of each of these names for the same God?
    • According to verses 9 & 10 is God’s protection available to everyone? Why or why not?
    • How does Psalm 91 explain what it means for God to be our “refuge and fortress”?
    • What are the dangers that the Psalmist is facing?
    • What are the conditions for God’s care in v14-16?
    • How do the following scriptures shed even more light on what it means to be “under God’s protection?”

      2 Corinthians 11:23-28
      2 Corinthians 12:7-10
      Romans 8:35-39
    • How does knowing Jesus help me sing the Psalm with even greater gusto?
